Today, I saw a print which disturbed me to some extend.
It was disturbing.
Very, very disturbing. You can't blame me, as I'm a Taurus, the first Horoscope related to the Earth, and I'm also in the Year of the Monkey, which might explain my love for nature (and bananas).
In Science, we're learning about conservation. In Geog, of course, we also learn about conservation. In Home Econs, we chop veggies and stuff to cook our meals. In History, we learn about settling down in different environments. In Drama, we learn about an "organic" dance named Butoh (it's jap), and imagining life growing from earth, and how we could do a nature protest with it. In English Lit (Language Arts), we learn about the evilness of human nature. And now, in Chinese and Culture, it was this.
My unusual link to the earth strengthened when I saw the chinese newspaper passed to us yesterday.
"NEW SPECIES OF ANIMALS FOUND IN INDONESIA"
I'm not going into details, but I was very, very disturbed about this line:
The animals did not so much as cringe when we went near them, as they have not seen any humans before in their lives. They were separated from our world.What made them so scared of us in the first place?Why are we humans so notorious?What rights do we have to ruin their surroundings and habitats?What makes us so vicious that we kill only for fun - for example, hunting?Why do we think that we are above them? That we are dominating them? Intelligience or physical-wise?We won't survive one day without bombs, guns, cages to lock animals in and whatnot. In the future, we're going to own Mojo-heads (as in the Powerpuff Girls) as we only use our heads, not our hands or legs. Just like the people in Maple. We will ruin, kill and destroy all the animals just for leisure. :) The Nature Society would have prolly closed down by then.
What a happy image for everyone.
Oh, and there will be no trees, as they all got extinct as teachers keep ordering us to print worksheets. We will then carve words on metal with diamonds, as they are so common then. No, they are not from ores, we will make them with ultra-cool technology and robots!
I can't imagine the meaning of living then. To acquire even more knowledge? Or everyone lives to die? I am so glad my life expectency isn't that long. I might die of frustration of not being able to understand the people.
